In February of 2000, Ivan and Rosvita founded Lako Auto Sales Ltd. Starting with 3 cars, an Oldsmobile, Chevrolet, and a Honda they provided exceptional old school service and have grown to an average inventory of 20-30 cars.

Both Ivan and Rose were born in Europe, Croatia, and Slovenia respectively. Ivan found his love for cars early, have started in the industry as a mechanic in Toronto. When Ivan and Rosvita met in the early 1970’s they moved closer to family and even started their own family of three children. Ivan worked for a few dealers in the area like Kaye Ford and Olympic Honda where he really developed his craft.

The demands of a young family saw Ivan step away from the industry. He began a career at Kitchener’s iconic meat processing factory J.M. Schnieders. With five years remaining until retirement, and the youngest child in high school, it was time for Ivan and Rosvita to once again step into the industry.

The first location was on Sawmill Road in Bloomingdale. Growth saw the business move to Victoria Street in Kitchener. The third location allowed for expanded space and was located on Shirley Avenue in Kitchener. In August of 2014 Lako Auto Sales purchased land on Highway 86 just south of Listowel, the property provides a 2500 Sq.ft facility for the dealership as well as a residential building. Talk about service! Ivan and Rosvita truly are available any time as they live on-site!

Should the vehicle need repair to safety-related components we won’t hesitate to make it right. If the vehicle’s powertrain components fail, we won’t hesitate to buy back the vehicle.
